I was born in Ramat Gan , Israel (near Tel Aviv). After living in Savion, Israel for three years, my family and I moved to the United States. While growing up in Tarzana, California, I went to nursery school at Temple Ner Maarav, went to Kindergarten at Wilbur Elementary, went to elementary and middle school at Kadima Hebrew Academy, and went to high school at William Howard Taft High School. For college, I went to UC Berkeley where I met the love of my life. During my summers while in college, I worked at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California, where I worked on the Mars Exploration Rovers Spirit and Opportunity and the Mars Science Laboratory which will be sent to Mars in 2009. I enjoy working with computers, building anything from spice racks to radio transmitters, and playing with/taking apart gadgets. In December, 2005, I graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and am ready to start my life with Julia.

Jonny doing what he loves best.

I was born in Kiev, Ukraine and lived there until my family immigrated to the United States when I was eight and a half years old. Since then, I've pretty much grew up in California (Orange County) where I've fallen in love with the warm weather and the calming and sunny beach. I spent the last 3.5 years in Berkeley where I studied biology and bioethics. I also had an amazing opportunity to teach Israeli Folk Dance. In the future I plan to go to nursing school, eventually become a Nurse Practitioner, and live in a green house with Jonny, a kitty, and a few kids. When I'm not studying the fascinating mechanisms of the human body, I enjoy knitting/crocheting, dancing, and baking pies. I am so excited about spending the rest of my life with Jonny....I can't imagine a better best friend. I really hope that I will get a chance to dance with all of you at the wedding.

Julia next to the Mediterranean Sea (January 2005)

We first met shortly after starting our freshman year at UC Berkeley, when a mutual friend, who was living on the same floor as Jonny, invited Julia to a party at their dorm. After talking for a bit we realized that we had something in common: Julia's then-new Rabbi was Jonny's sister-in-law.

We saw each other again about a week later at services on Yom Kippur and spent the rest of the day together with a few friends trying not to think of food. For the next two or so weeks we spent a lot of time together, mostly studying. On Simcha Torah Jonny asked Julia out, and, after thinking about it for a day and a half, she agreed.

This picture was taken a few weeks after we met, approximately October 2002.
